Review from 76561198803684215Fun vertical platformer that only takes half an hour to 100%. I think that a sequel with the same gameplay, but with more levels and new mechanics would work. The one downside I have to say about this game other than the short length is that I wish there was a level editor.
Review from 76561198389056566it takes 30 minutes to 100% the entire thing which is fair considering its price point chill vertical 2d platformer reminiscent of donkey kong country, would recommend

Review from 76561198047800991Beeny is (mostly) a short 2D platformer where you play a chonkey bee who bounces on other bees. You can finish it in about a half-hour if your not interested in the time trials. I would recommend this as a warm up before starting on Siactro's bigger games like Macbat, Toree or Kiwi.
Review from 76561198014752983I don't know why but this game creeped me out. It is really good but something about it just feels cursed to me.

Review from 76561198059924137this game's soundtrack is so damn good. i wish this was a longer game, i love sciatro's other stuff but i'd love to see a full fledged 2D platformer like this, it's excellent.
Review from 76561198020437751Very good and very simple platformer. Would love some more :)
Review from 76561198007888370We've really gotten to the point of gaming evolution where we have bees that bounce! Only Siactro would make a game based around a bee that doesn't fly and SOMEHOW make it work. This game is so solid despite being so simple, and it manages to feel like a complete product despite being a fraction of the price of bigger games that frankly release unfinished. Indie platformers like this are like fine art, you just can’t help but appreciate the effort and passion these independent developers put into their projects and the way they recapture the golden era of gaming. Just finished the game not too long ago, and I gotta say, it's spectacular! The levels, characters, and music are phenomenal, and the free kiwi 64 demo got me interested in that game as well. The game looks and feels like an actual SNES game, how is this not a dream?! I was able to 100% Beeny in under an hour, and while I did have so much I ended up replaying it multiple times, I just wish there was more. Still, for the price I think it’s absolutely worth it and I hope we keep getting more awesome games like this one from the developer. 8/10

Review from 76561198060723947Beeny But seriously, this is fun little game with charming graphics and style with some absolutely BOPS to jam to as well.
Review from 76561199161743642For what it is its fun.
Review from 76561198047474483"Beeny" is a very short (under 15 for one playthrough, under 30 min to 100% it) and very basic, but charming vertical platformer, that really digs the style of the "Donkey Kong Country"-series in terms of sprite rendering, overworld-design and music. As for other works of "Siactro"
with usual cameos of other works of them and one uncanny but also usual horror bit
, it is more like a proof of concept, being content-light and not challenging. But it is also nostalgia done right, cheaper than a beer and very convenient to speedrun!
Review from 76561199403686284Solid vertical 2D platformer with decent sprite work, good controls and a fitting soundtrack. The extremely low price helps.
Review from 76561198353716220Genuinely really fun game, with an unexpected amazing soundtrack. This game has convinced me to keep an eye on this dev, cause they have the potential to make amazing, can not wait for your next game dude! Yes ofc I recommend the game, especially for the price lol.

Review from 76561198020403264Smallest Siactro title here on steam. You are a fat bee. Jump up to get to the end of the 10 little stages. Graphics: The main attraction. Prerendered graphics just like grandma SNES used to make in 1995. 3D images prerendered and turned into pixels. Absolutely gorgeous. The main theme is all wood, since you are climbing a tree, but you have some variety with rain, fall, snow, and dead trees in the obligatory spooky part of any Siactro game. Music and Sound: As is the case with all other Siactro games, they are a delight to listen to. We really needed a complete Siactro soundtrack. Sound effects are really subdued here, we mostly hear music, not much in way of sound feedback. Getting hit results in no sound at all. Not that strange considering the inconsequence of getting hit. Story: Almost no story, you must get to the end to help your friend. Go. Options: Literally inexistent. There are no options. You can only start the game from the main menu. From the pause menu you can retry the stage or go to the map. At least you got 3 save slots? Controls: You move left and right with the directional. You can jump. That’s it. The jump has a good arc, and you can get to the platforms you need. The unlockable character Toree has a Double jump. Gameplay: You go up. You have 10 total stages, 1 more unlocked after completing the initial 9. All in a single world. You have some stage elements like enemies that “hurt” you (more below), bees that help you by bouncing or serving as platforms, ants that serves as conveyor belts, rain that pushes you in a certain direction. Initially it is the easiest game ever, possibly. You don’t have hit points, whenever the enemy touch you, you get a small knockback, and that’s that, you can continue going up. Even the threat of falling all the way down is non-existent, because some bee friends block the way down after you went up for a while. There is only one stage where you have an enemy that sends you back to the beginning of the stage if it touches you. After you complete the 9 stages, you get three things: 1-The ending cinematic, and a section that can be considered a demo for Super Kiwi 64, with a small 3D stage where you control Kiwi and collect some powerstones. 2-You unlock the 10th stage, xmas themed. 3- Time trial. Here’s where the challenge of the game lies. You are given a time, like 0:45 sec for exemple, to complete the stage. Get to the end in time and you get a medal. The catch is, you have barely any time to spare. Most of the stages don’t give room to get hit or fail a jump once. You’ll finish most of them with 2 or 3 seconds left. That being said, it’s not that difficult. Now go speedrun. After completing all 10 stages you unlock Toree with its double jump. Achievements and time of play: There are 10 medals for the time trial. Unlocking Toree is basically the 100%. With it’s 10 stages, going twice for the time trial, you get 30 min of play. Conclusion: If you are craving something to play with prerendered graphics, and aren’t bothered by its lack of length, give it a go, it’s a cute experience.
Review from 76561198372247474this is neat 20 minutes or so. feel like there's a lot of things that could use sound effects that just don't have any though

Review from 76561198200215897definitely the least interesting siactro release, which is a shame because it's nice seeing them explore other gameplay styles than their usual 3D platformers. they definitely tried to do something cool with this, and i'd be interested to see them attempt another 2D game some time, but with this one being 15 minutes long, pretty repetitive, and mostly acting as an ad for SK64, its hard to recommend

Review from 76561198273207995Wonderfull!!!
Review from 76561198432193388Siactro is a developer I have followed for a few years as he has a reputation for making short games inspired by classic 3D platformers. However, just recently I found out that he made Beeny, a platformer about a bouncy, fat, bumblebee and it is my new favorite game from this developer. The music and graphics are both heavily inspired by the Donkey Kong Country series, some of my favorite video games of all time. The graphics have a crushed, pixellated 16-bit look to them, like something on a real SNES. The entire game is basically the forest levels from DKC3, where you climb from branch to branch in a narrow space. I loved the autumn levels, they reminded me of Click Clock Wood from Banjo-Kazooie but in a DKC style. The snow levels were some of my favorite as they were also quite beautiful. As this is a Siactro game, he throws in one "horror" level among all the other cutesy ones, and they always feel quite jarring and out of place. The game is so short, but it's a lot of fun fur just one dollar. I highly recommend getting all the time trials after beating the main game.
Review from 76561198257151486Gave off donkey kong country vibes which was a nice surprise. Good timing for the bonus christmas level.

Review from 76561197999051188It's the simple things in life...
Review from 76561198144007114not really
Review from 76561198128034078IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: The main game mode is extremely short. It's a lot of fun and really cute and charming, but it's even shorter than other games of the developer like Toree or Super Kiwi 64. Which is fine for a dollar. However, there is extra content including a time attack mode, reward for getting all par times, and a special reward for beating the game. Speaking of Super Kiwi 64 - you MUST beat this game if you plan on playing or buying this. Trust me.
Review from 76561198373998001We peaked at Beeny I'm so not kidding
Review from 76561198073404675It's incredibly simple, but it was also only a dollar and brought back a lot of nostalgic memories, so I'm really not going to be (or bee, get it?) too hard on it.
Review from 76561197978057310The best game featuring a bee. This is a hard fact that the common populace just needs to accept.
Review from 76561198092044967El mayor plot twist que he visto jamás en un videojuego.
Review from 76561198015373184Like other games from the dev. It's inexpensive. It's fun. Its got good controls, music, and art. It's not difficult, but there is a slight challenge if you want it. Can't complain, love this dev's work!
Review from 76561197983456827Beeny is about as exciting as brushing your teeth first thing in the morning after waking up to an alarm on 5 hours sleep. The best part of this game is towards the end you get to play as the kiwi which has nothing to do with Beeny the none flying bee the main reason for this is because the 2 minutes of gameplay in the last section of the game is far more exciting than the rolling and bouncing up the same reshaded pixels over and over again.
Review from 76561198063449210Beeny is short but an enjoyable platformer as you roll and jump through the levels, Time trials are usually not my style in platformers but I found these challenging and enjoyable so if your willing to go on an adventure I would recommend this. And the music is such a good jam.

Review from 76561199296846649In a magical forest, there lived a bear named Beeny. Beeny's unique talent was juggling flaming marshmallows. He would perform by the campfire, dazzling the forest critters with his fiery act. His skill made him a beloved entertainer in the forest, spreading joy and warmth wherever he went. Beeny proved that even the most unexpected talents can bring happiness to the world.

Review from 76561198026705369
Beeny? More like Boring. *BA DUM TSK*
You might be tempted to play one of Siactro's earliest games mainly because 1: The Price is super cheap and 2: The Game's Aesthetics look nice. But in all honesty you really don't wanna play this. This is one of the most shallow games I've ever played. The length is appropriate for the price ratio but the game itself isn't fun at all. You can beat it in 15 Minutes and in all honesty the controls are not that hot. It's also super forgiving, WAY too much in fact and in general all you're doing is playing Baby's First Jump King or a bad/boring level from a Donkey Kong Country game. Aesthetically it looks nice and the music is pretty good, being authentic to the SNES Midi music of the day (I wish more games or new music had that SNES Midi Quality sound to it) but the game is just not worth it in general. I also couldn't find a way to close the game at all so I had to manually close the .exe which was not fun at all. The game itself is just shallow and lacking. Macbat 64 had more charm and depth than this. I don't know, it's not worth playing and you'll be disappointed. It's throwaway material.
Review from 76561198098553672It's exactly what it looks like and the soundtrack is very good. I also loved Super Kiwi 64 so seeing the backstory was cool.
Review from 76561198000024946Beeny is a very short and simple experience, but is an audio-visual joy for anyone that loves that Donkey Kong Country style. The jungle and snow levels in particular really nail the sound and look of DKC and sent me all the way back to my childhood.
Review from 76561198227168468Yet another Siactro banger. For some, the nostalgia and responsive controls will be enough. These are two staples of Siactro games. However, another of Siactro's staples is game length. I have never played a Siactro game i havent beaten in 30 minutes, which I understand as it is developed by one person. However, it doesnt change the fact that for something so beautiful I WISH IT WAS LONGER!!! This game's art style is incredible. The love and passion for this era of gaming emanates from every frame! It feels like it would fit right alongside something like Donkey Kong Country. But I got 100% in 30 minutes! Look buy the game it's a dollar, if you buy all the Siactro games it's like 10 dollars total and at that point you get about 4 hours or more of gameplay across nostalgic collectathons and 3d platformers, if you go for time trials on all the toree games maybe 6 hours. Compared to many other games for this price you do get bang for your buck, just wish it was longer.
Review from 76561198354876731What is Beeny? For the blind, Beeny is the vision. For the hungry, Beeny is the chef. For the thirsty, Beeny is the water. If Beeny thinks, I agree. If Beeny speaks, I am listening. If Beeny has a million fans, I am one of them. If Beeny has ten fans, I am one of them. If Beeny has one fan, that is me. If Beeny has zero fans, I no longer exist.

Review from 76561199067475225This game brought me so much joy. Here is my story: I am a 192 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my Son, who is 2022 now (I am the father of Jesus Christ). My son got this game for Christmas (his birthday) in 1492 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 169 hours on this masterpiece. This was great news for me for me, however it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his apostles or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, picked my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do (it was too intellectual for me). I asked my Son, Jesus Christ, for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since Queen Elizabeth II had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories. Peggle is a truly one-of-a-kind experience. I think you will all have a wonderful time in this masterpiece. It is a gift from the heavens. I have since played this game for thousands of hours.

Review from 765611983534519523 Пчеловода из 6.
Review from 76561198799326926Beeny
Review from 76561198261957551Not my favorite Siactro game (favorite is probably Kiwi 64) but I had fun for what it's worth. It's not long enough for its simple gameplay loop to get boring. And the DKC aesthetic is strong. I 100%ed it in under 30 minutes, which involves beating all of the levels, playing a bonus level as kiwi, unlocking Toree as a playable character, and beating all of the levels a second time but under a time limit, All in under 30 minutes. it's very short. It's also very easy. It doesn't seem possible to fail a level, and it seems like the game is actively designed to avoid frustrating even the most impatient players, as the worst case consequence for falling is losing seconds of progress and getting hit with a hazard only deals a small knockback effect. So it seems more fitting as a speedgame--the challenge comes from optimizing your movement to time trial the levels as fast as possible rather than beating the levels in and of themselves. Do with this information what you will.

Review from 76561199411395307Wow im not quite sure how to start this..., Hi its Geck0 and this is my Mini Essay on Beeny, Game Overiew: Beeny which was released in 2022 is a story of a bee helping collect honey for there friend to repair a raft the game shows you bouncing up trees to reach a beehive and collect Honey, thats pretty much it but it introduces new mechanics like enemies and windy rain but none of them overstay your welcome. Why you Should get Beeny: Its cheap, like cheaper than a drink and you can play it forever, a drink will run out also with all the big games coming out that you know you wont finish, because dont lie to yourself its too much, this game is easy and fun to finish and you can beat it casually in one sitting plus there is a timed mode when you finish so theres even replay value. If you can afford a packet of crisps you can get Beeny, so get Beeny. My personal opinion: i had lots of fun with my playthrough of Beeny and i still have the time trials to do plus ill probably speedrun the game because it was that fun look the game is pretty life alterring and i dont think ill ever be the same after Beeny but i think thats a good thing. I now have friends, Yes thats right FRIENDS, this is all because of Beeny trust me its worth your time.
Review from 76561198063042468It seems that most positive reviews come from Super Kiwi 64 fans and I've noticed Patreon supporters in the credits. That aside, < €1,- or not, it's demo content + promotional content (SK 64 extra (mini) stage) + 1 extra level to speedrun; went to speedrun the special level, but concluded there's no incentive for speedrunning/0 challenge either, so replay value? 0 difficulty indeed, and you could probably finish this game blindfolded, as the floor certainly isn't lava this time around ...
