Review from 76561198251382648Very well done short animation movie. Story is about a robot head in a garbage dump, that wants a body. Graphics are really good, panoramic views were really impressive, and performance was ok solid 60fos with a 1080 (cut in half because i had it set at 120hz) Its about 10min long and its a very pleasant 10min. My only issue is that it has a couple of camara movements and scene transitions that can cause motion sickness. But there is a "no camara movement" option at the beginning, so i guess you can use that. Its easy to recommend because it is free and very well done, except for a couple of sudden camara movements.
Review from 76561197963366484Boring and short.

Review from 76561198063758023It's ok for a VR short film, but I'd definitely recommend checking out other VR short films like the Google Spotlight Stories series (Age of Sail) afterword.
Review from 76561197982295752Please State Your Name : A VR Animated Film is a free VR Animated Film. It worked on my system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has a choice of camera move or teleport mode. Some people have motion sickness problem with the camera move mode. Was a short and touching story. Try it and delete it.

Review from 76561198062547070The narrator literally ruins the entire thing. Not only is there no need for a narrator but if you do pick one, pick a decent one. Get rid of it for future projects.
Review from 76561198066590240I've never seen Wall-E ... Rating 6/10 a story about a severed robot in a junkyard finding redemption ... that's gold Jerry! Experienced 360 animated short on Oculus Rift with keyboard, no issues
Review from 76561198046418282Bad WALL-E rip-off. Pros - the narration is the only good thing Cons - not a game should be animation category - annoying robot chatter - robots jump around unrealistically - graphics are bad and copy paste all over 3/10 rating. For me it run without problems, try it if you want it's free but it's a waste of time to download just to watch an animation.
Review from 76561197961017729Here you have the adventures of Wall-E's poor cousin, in VR. His name is the worst name in the world: 'Dustin'. Dustin has no real home/friends of his own in the trash planet, because unlike Wall-E, he is too feeble-minded, lazy, unproductive, and unconstructive to be able productively construct a structure. Dustin lives in squalor, and is poorly educated. I'm having trouble thinking of more snark for this review. Sighhhhhhhhh. My lack of funny things to say about this imaginary straw-robbit mirrors the milquetoast nature of this demo. It's fine, it's good, but a bit boring and pixellated and you're farther away from the action than you would want. This review sucks.
My name is byteframe. Review from 76561197995651227It is difficult to give this work a fair review. On one hand, every technical aspect works very well. It plays smoothly, and all the pieces preform what they are supposed to. It is meant to be a purely passive experience. As a free product, it delivers a properly working product. Unfortunately a Passive experience lives and dies on the contents of the story, and it is impossible to not compare this to Wall-E, a bar that this animation is in no way capable of living up to. The design is simple, yet uninspired and unexpressive, the character has only a single line, and yet nothing is done to use that line to convey an actual sense of dialog. Wall-E, Groot, and other characters with similarly limited vocabulary still use that minimalism to convey entire paragraphs of context. As for the story itself, it is either too vague, and I am missing it entirely,(which rarely happens) or it is so over simplified as to not even be recognizable as a story. There was a head, there was a problem, he met another head and together they pressed a button, and the problem was solved. For some reason that is meaningful? Perhaps all of this could have been ignored if there was something added by making this a VR experience. If any of this somehow showcased how a regular experience can be made more impressive by using VR as the medium, I would at least be able to say it's worth trying, but I don't feel anything like this. This feels like a school project where the student was busier checking to make sure they met all the stupid structural criteria to qualify for the grade, and then making sure they didn't write anything too difficult to animate, that making sure the story was actually enjoyable was never factored into the equation. I don't usually do this to a free product that has no actual technical issues, but I just can't recommend this one.
Review from 76561198095917598Nice little short story, defintely worth a quick look. This short and charming 10 minute animated VR film has a touch of WALL-E as you follow a decapitated robot head who is stuck with a broken voice box. He tries to escape a giant garbage facility where robots are being deconstructured, embarking on a small journey that will decide his fate. While it cleverly uses the medium of VR to draw your attention 360° around the space, my main (and only) crticism is the VR film utilizes cuts that work in traditional film, but in VR it's really jarring. I would suggest fade in / out during transitions or having the player on a moving platform that narratively worked in the world, to mitigate the jerky feeling of unanticipatedly being teleported. This was an otherwise enjoyable short VR film! I'd suggest watching it sitting down in a swivel chair, or know that your viewpoint will be moving in the film while you stand still. WOW! Just watched this. Amazing work. I think this is the first VR short film I've ever seen using the VIVE.
Review from 76561197997801929
Not much better than simply seeing a 3D SBS video.
What I hate is that it's mostly meant to be seen from a single angle rather than from any chosen view. Looking around renders no interesting results, and you can't explore at all. The characters are forgettable. The environment is forgettable. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. It ends quickly. It's free, so feel free to give this a try, but it's not something you will find memorable, and it's not a good example of what VR is about.
Review from 76561197961030382It's a non-charming and non-entertaining version of wall-e.
Review from 76561198004459163Very Nice (WALLE) ;)
Review from 76561198046576324Fun little experiment, I was working with an app called RiftCat, which allows me to use my google cardboard headset with my computer, but even still, I recommend wwatching this at least once, because it has lots of little details that make it adorable.
Review from 76561197999483295Unfortunately this short animated film has no true dialogue(main character can only say one thing similar to Wall-E) or charm. The film takes place in what appears to be a garbage dump and everything is dull with nothing interesting to look at. Not worth the bandwidth to download.
Review from 76561198024977384That was fun.
Review from 76561198029149239Nice little VR animated/movie experience. Nothing ground breaking but promising for future of VR animated movies.
Review from 76561197970685997Nice short animation film. Since it is free, fully recommended.
Review from 76561197960781911If it wasn't free I couldn't recommend this but as Steam doesn't let me give a neutral it's more positive than not. The animation is cute and the voice acting good but it's too much of a traditional short, nothing really special and vr about it. A stronger tail or more engaging animation (or both) would have lifted it but a good attempt.
Review from 76561198001968960Well, this is a very short VR film. It's kind of cute but overall not very interesting. I know VR is just starting to get better content and this is a step in that direction. I appreciated it and since it's free, you really can't go wrong!
Review from 76561198096412999Very fun short film. And it's free so what have you got to lose? The option to remove camera movement is very welcome. Check it out!
Review from 76561197976058476I enjoy these VR short stories and this was cute but given the plain visuals the performance was terrible and as such I couldn't recommend this.
Review from 76561197970490589Awesome little short film. Great that it's free and it feels like you're in a Pixar movie. It got me excited because it gives a glimpse of what we can expect from filmmaking in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoYtb6L6fhk
Review from 76561197994471660Reviewing as a film, there isn't much substance to this. It feels like a lot of the story was missing and that this is just a snipet to a much larger picture. It's the length of a short film, but doesn't manage to engage much in the time frame. I didn't really understand much of it either. A short should engage you from the start with a memorable finish. This wasn't very memorable unfortunately. Maybe if it had more story development it would be better. As a VR experience it's interesting, but I feel a lot more could have been done to take advantage of this medium. It was mostly treated the way traditional film is shot with camera movements and cuts, which isn't very comfortable in VR. It's not an experience I would be proud to demo off to friends or family. At least it's free, and I appreciate the creator for trying something new. Keep at it, take advantage of the medium and learn how to get the viewer in it, as an actor, not just a spectator. That's what VR is all about!
Review from 76561198010007942Although a bit rough at the edges, this is really a very well executed little film! I found the storyline quite engaging and well told. Hoping the next one will be a little longer!!
Review from 76561197970344207Follows the tradition of cute underdog robot films and pulls it off.
Review from 76561198004788756Unfortunately I cannot recommend this VR short. It uses techniques, such as camera panning and fast cuts, that are your bread and butter in flat filmmaking, but are ineffective for VR. Apart from that, the environment is ugly and boring, nothing of interest happens, and there are no sympathetic characters; even kids might struggle to enjoy it. Note: I exceed the minimum requirements but the performance was still bad. However, I disregarded that that for the purpose of this review.

Review from 76561198005403722Cute.
Review from 76561198004281923Very nice. Many thanks to the devs!
Review from 76561197965237284The story is a bit muddled on the first experience, but if you watch it a couple of times you pick up on more and more of what is actually happening. The lighting is done very well and I liked the scale of the environment as you are a about as tall as a trashcan. I was sad that it ended in about 8 minutes. Watch it a couple times for sure. Worth a couple of "re-plays" for sure. The more times you watch, you start to pick up a lot of influences that the developer had. The graphics are extremely GPU-intensive, so if you have an RX 480 or lesser card, you can expect a BAD experience. Even a GTX 1070 will be in interleaved Reprojection most of the time, but it is not a deal breaker unless you are just swinging your head wildly.
Review from 76561198045688714This is a cool little VR animation, that lasts about 8 minutes. It was a little jittery for me (i7 6700k & 390x) which is quite rare for me, and the positional sound needs a bit of work, but it's a charming bit of animation, well narrated, and definitely worth a look, if only because it's free and a nice non-game to show people.
Review from 76561197979579510Good storytelling. Visuals and animation were executed well. As others have said, some of the cuts could have been done better, and the floating upwards felt weird. Overall would recommend.
Review from 76561198116304836Nice little short story, defintely worth a quick look

Review from 76561198036680787I absolutely love short films, especially in VR. For some reason with this I just couldn't follow the story, still don't really know what is was all about or what happened. The game moves you around unnaturally which makes you feel a bit motion sick, I use VR almost all day every day so I'm not really prone to motion sickness in VR. The graphics are also very poor. The music is pretty good though. It's free so you really can't hate on it too much however I think the developers/ studio should really take a lesson from other VR short films like Henry and Allumette. Edit: On second playthrough I still find this to be a very bad vr story. The story, dialogue, graphics, sound fx, graphics, motion sickness are all very poor. As another review has pointed out, children would find this hard to follow and very unengaging to the characters.
